A Horse of Course
In Winter Park, CO, there are a number of festivals held at Hideaway Park. My husband and I were walking back from one of the festivals in August right around my birthday. As we were crossing the main street in town, we saw a horse that had gotten loose and was running in the middle of the street through traffic and red stoplights.
No one seemed to know what to do—drivers, passengers, pedestrians all watched as the horse ran by. As the horse approached me, I walked into the middle of the street and guided the horse to the side of the road. Once we got there, a policeman and the owner’s father showed up, as you can see in this photo.
When I saw the horse in the middle of the street, I knew what needed to happen next and so I helped the horse over to the side of the road. Most likely, a number of onlookers also recognized what needed to happen next, but I was the only one to take action. Seeing what needs to happen and actually doing it can be two different things. For me, they are both important—the seeing and the doing.
I believe you need both to be a successful marketer—the ability to develop a strategy and the ability to execute against it.
I’m confident I can do the same for your business. I’d offer the horse as a reference, but I’m hopeful the picture will suffice.
